Asbestos removal
Asbestos handling can only be done by approved and registered asbestos contractors. This is prescribed by the Asbestos Abatement Regulations 2020. The choice of contractor was vital to ensure not only compliance, but a quality finish that would be long-lasting. So, considering the mall being a top tourist attraction and a busy mall, work had to be carried out with the utmost care to avoid any possibility of health and safety risks to consumers, staff and workers.
This stipulates the requirements of contractors to be registered according to the type of asbestos work they carry out. And it also details the requirements of building owners to comply with the regulations.
In this instance, the contractor was required to remove the asbestos roof sheeting on a retail centre. As such, Ingozi Management ensured that strict health and safety protocols were observed.

The V&A Waterfront asbestos removal project was vital as one of the major tourist attractions in Cape Town. Therefore this shopping mall upgraded its roof. And so removing asbestos roof sheeting was done under strict supervision by Ingozi Management.

Removing asbestos from a building requires strict adherence to health and safety protocols. This is to ensure compliance with the OHS Act and the Asbestos Abatement Regulations 2020.

Damaged asbestos is dangerous and once its fibres are released into the air. These can cause significant health risks to those who are in the vicinity for long periods.
